All the bodices are lined & tie up at the back for an easy and adjustable fit. The pattern starts at size 1 (18months) and goes up to size 10 (10 years). And the options.... omgosh I have so much fun working out all the options to include. Each one means you can put your own slant on it via the details you use. There are 6 style options and 2 lengths (cropped & longline).
For those of you that have never sewn a Pattern Emporium pattern, all come with detailed instructions (both words & pictures) on how to cut & sew each garment. All you need to do is download the pattern/tutorial straight to your computer, print out the pattern pieces you need, tape it together (instructions included) & then follow the simple instructions. For beginners, you'll find you'll learn new skills and for the more advanced, you'll find the opportunity to tweak to suit you.
Ooohh and I've included a tutorial on how to cut, join, make & sew binding if you want to take the plunge and make your own. Otherwise store bought is perfectly fabulous.
The fabric I've used for this tutorial is Lucky Girl by Jennifer Paganelli.
So here they are. The first, pictured below, is the Basic Bella Bodice. If you're new to sewing, this is the one to begin with. This is the cropped length. It also comes in longline.
The shorts in this picture are made using the 'Ava Jeans' Pattern and following the shorts pattern hack on my blog. And I've tweaked the pockets a little. You can find the pattern here.
Next is the Bib Front Bella Bodice. Again, this is the cropped length.
Below is the Ruffle Front Bella Bodice. This is the longline length. The skirt pictured here is the Girls Ruffle Flip Skirt. You can find that pattern here.
Next is the Ruffle Hem Bella Bodice in longline length. This a-line skirt will be released in 2014.
Next up is the Frill Neck Bella Bodice. Simple & chic.
And finally, the most complex one (and it's not too complex) is the Flutter Sleeve Bella Bodice. This one has wider straps than all the others and a gorgeous little frilled sleeve detail. Pictured is the longline version.
When you post your pics on instagram or facebook make sure you tag it #bellabodice.
Happy sewing.
